Settle Down

This time last year I had started uni and was getting my feet stuck in to a new course. If this blog post was coming a week later, then I'd have said I was a week into my course and was hating life. After that, I'd change to a different course and continue to hate that until May. But now, now I've just started a new course in a new uni and a new city and I can already tell I'm going to love it.

I know I'm speaking to soon. I know I'm going to hate some of it - that comes as a given. But I feel a lot more grounded and settled here after three weeks than I did in Leicester after 8 months. And I think that speaks volumes. The city, Canterbury, is way smaller but it has a lot more going on for me. And it's so cute and pretty (if you forget the locals and the homeless people that is).

And with my writing - I have a lot of things coming up to be excited about. There's lots of opportunities here and I really feel like I can grab the bull by its horns and really get going. I feel a massive wave of inspiration and being surrounded by artists and writers just adds to that.

All in all, moving to Canterbury has been one of the best decisions I've made in a very long time. No, I'm still not in the best mental state yet, and I'm still improving my health and wellbeing BUT I feel a lot more light and carefree about somethings.

I have a lot of really exciting things set up for this blog too, I've neglected it over the past few months and now I'm calming down a bit - I can really get back into the swing of things. I'm excited!
